Interdisciplinary care in disorders/differences of sex development (DSD): The psychosocial component of the DSD—Translational research network / What does Accord Alliance recommend for the care of people with DSD?

We recommend patient-centered care that focuses on maximizing quality of life for individual patients. We are working towards making sure that all people with DSD – whether children or adults – have the expert medical care their particular conditions require. As part of that, we want to be sure people with DSD have uninhibited access to high quality mental health and social work services. We believe that children with DSD are generally best served by well-informed, well-integrated DSD teams at major medical centers.
