This handbook is the result of an extraordinary collaboration among parents of children with disorders of sex development (DSD), adults with DSD, clinicians who care for people with DSD, and other patient advocates. Christine Feick and Sallie Foley wrote the original draft of this document, including much of the material contained in Chapters One through Three. Alice Dreger then invited review and contributions from others and edited the handbook, adding additional material with help from collaborators. We hope to refine and expand this document so that it becomes as supportive as such a book can be.
